Abstract
This paper deals with real-time implementation of Model Predictive Control (MPC) of a fan heater system using Programmable Logic Controller
(PLC) platform. The MPC problem is solved using parametric programming techniques, which encode the optimal control moves as a lookup table. The challenge then becomes how to implement such a table on a memory-restricted device. The proposed design procedure is illustrated on real-time control of a laboratory
heat exchange plant.
