- Binary single- and multistage distillation -- characterization of equilibrium; calculation of batch and continuous distillation; steam distillation; Mc-Cabe-Thiele method of calculation of distillation column; design of dimensions of tray and packed bed columns; column efficiency; batch multistage distillation; extraction and azeotropic distillation. Extraction -- liquid-liquid and liquid-solid extraction; solution of batch and continuous extraction in triangular diagram. Absorption and desorption -- characterization of equilibrium and mass transfer; material balance of co-current and counter-current absorption; absorption with recirculation; calculation of dimensions of tray and packed-bed columns; height of equivalent to theoretical plate and to transfer unit.
