- Level of study:
- 1.
- Prerequisites for registration:
- passed Physical Chemistry I (N400F0_4B) or enrolled simultaneously Physical Chemistry I (N400F0_4B)
- Assesment methods:
- Tests, oral examination related to practiced topic, preparation of report on measurements. The notation is defined by the currently valid study regulations at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.
- Learning outcomes of the course unit:
- Laboratory practices enable students to gain practical skills from the fundamentals of chemical thermodynamics with focus on calorimetry and phase changes in one-component and multi-components systems. They enable the application of knowledge obtained in lectures and seminars from physical chemistry.
- Course contents:
- Refractometry, polarimetry, molar mass estimation of volatile liquids, liquid surface tension, viscosimetry, calorimetric determination of enthalpy change of dissolvation, determination of enthalpy of vaporization, liquid-vapor phase diagramms of two componet systems, cryoscopy, liquid-liquid phase diagrams.
